In honor of Dragon*Con 2013…

The Daily Cover Rerun!
WCT #17 (9/3/12): The Buggles – Astroboy (and the Proles on Parade)

Me, an iPad, & the kind-hearted people of Dragon*Con 2012.

It went like this:

“Hey, would you like to be in a cheap video? All you have to do is hold a piece of paper for 5 seconds.”
Only 2 people said no. And only 2 people even asked what it was for.

Dragon*Con, I love you so hard.

I make these cover videos. I’ve been doing it for over a year. Sometimes with my band, sometimes just me and an iPad. Sometimes I’m just playing an acoustic, sometimes they’re elaborate, goofy videos (shot with an iPhone, I’m not made of money!). They’re all made with love and baked fresh in less than seven days. I hope you’ll enjoy them (and not feel litigious) and share them with others!

A whole year of the Weekly Cover Thing!

So, I do this thing called The Weekly Cover Thing. You may have noticed. This week I posted my 52nd video (though it’s been a little over a year since I started. I missed a few weeks here and there). In general, it’s unlike me to come up with a BIG IDEA and then, you know, actually continue to do it. But, here we are!

I wanted to celebrate the achievement, even if just for myself. I’m really sort of proud that I did it, and that I continue to do it (it plays a big part in the fact that I’m finally making new music again of my own). I’m also sort of proud of a number of these covers, to be honest. So I decided to feature them during the next random number of days (because I don’t really know if I’m going to do all of them or just some or what. Feel free to cast a vote one way or another…) in a feature I call:

The Daily Cover ReRun!

I’ll post them and try and tell you interesting (or not) things about them. I hope you’ll enjoy seeing them again (or for the first time) (yes, obviously I’m a fan of parentheses). And also sentence fragments.

More to the point, I hope you’ll share them with others! The truth is, if you love a musician, the very best way to show support is to share it with your friends and get them hooked, too. It’s one of the big reasons I love doing these covers, because it’s a way for me to share songs that I really love. I hope you may feel moved to do the same!

Thanks for being here with me!

I won’t lie…

…we’ve started recording. Oh, my fellow earthlings, I hope you will be pleased. You will start to hear it all soon.
