Blog updates & show updates

Just a couple of quick notes…

The Susi French Connection, a super-fine band doing covers of the finest (and/or worst) of seventies AM Gold hits, will be playing at Eddie’s Attic (Atlanta, GA) in November, and are kindly allowing me to hop up and sing a song once again. I know what it is and it will be awesome.

You may or may not know that back in December I took a trip to Peru to participate in a few ayahuasca ceremonies. If you’re curious about how that went, or even what the hell an ayahuasca ceremony is, I’ve been updating the Blog (finally) with all the details.

Opening for Joe Pernice in Boston!

I’ll be opening up for Joe Pernice in Boston on August 25.

This is news that is awesome.

It’s possible you might not understand why, which is why I will direct you to The Pernice Brothers website as well as recommend you listen to their music as soon as possible (start with Yours, Mine & Ours, if you want my advice).

This is one of those rare occasions when I get to meet a personal hero. If you can make it to Boston, come see me be nervous!

UPDATED (8/22):
Online ticket sales for the early show (with ME opening) are sold out!
There will still be limited tickets available at the door, so get there early!
Late show tickets (with the fab John Brodeur opening) are still available online HERE.

500 Songs for Kids

It’s that time of year again! Time for the annual 500 SONGS FOR KIDS event in Atlanta, and I’ll be performing song #483, “Up the Junction” by Squeeze on April 28. The show takes place once again at Smith’s Olde Bar in Atlanta.

For those who don’t know, 500 SONGS FOR KIDS is a 10-day live music marathon running from April 28th to May 7th, 2011. 500 DIFFERENT Artists will perform a countdown of this year’s theme, the 500 GREATEST FEEL GOOD SONGS OF ALL TIME, in the largest musician involved charity event in Georgia. SONGS FOR KIDS FOUNDATION is a non-profit foundation that brings musicians year-round to hospitals and special needs kids camps. Go to http://www.songsforkidsfoundation.org/ to learn more.
